Several of the new adventures that is going on in our lives right now is Larry has a new job. Praise the Lord. He was able to get a job with the State of Nevada. The job pays ok but it is about an hours commute. With the way gas prices keep going up, this just eats into our income. Also the State takes a large chunk of it for their retirement system. But because it comes out of gross income, we will probably not qualify for welfare assistance. And lets just say that his take home pay is pretty close to what he was bring home on unemployment. But I know that the Lord again will provide. I just have to continue to keep trusting Him no matter how uncertain I am. The hours for this job is also crazy. Right now Larry is working swing shift which is not too bad and he has Wednesday and Thursday off. However, he does not get home until late and he doesn't get weekends off. But for now the job is paying the bills.
Second, as I mentioned above, I have several new jobs. The first is working for a company that cooks and prepares diet meals in the Las Vegas area. The second is as a merchandiser for a company called Pro Choice. Both jobs allow me to be extremely flexible with my schedule. However, with both jobs and volunteering at the school it almost was a full time job. I was working at least 3 days a week and the weekends were packed with craziness too. I have to officially say that I am burned out. The last 6 months had been a whirlwind of work, home and church related events. I am extremely ready for a vacation away from Las Vegas, work and even family. I seriously need some time for myself and it doesn't look like I will be getting that anytime sooner.
Lastly, I am unsure of what may lay ahead for my family and I. We have traveled the land of unemployment for the last several months and have actually made it out faster and with less injuries than some. However, we are now venturing into a land of financial uncertainty. Although may have travel to this land and made it out alive and stronger, we are just starting out. As a family we have never had to struggle financially. The Lord has always provided a job that has paid well. Although this job may not pay as well as the other jobs, I know that the Lord has worked it out and that we as a family will grow stronger for it. This job still would allow Larry to attend school and me to continue to work. I know that I will have to just keep trusting the Lord.
Here are some recent pictures of the family for you to enjoy:
